Ingredients

  • 1 bag (about 9-10 oz) Fritos corn chips
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 can (15 oz) chili beans (or kidney beans), drained
  • 1 can (14-15 oz) mild chili without beans (optional)
  • 2 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 0.5 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Optional toppings: sliced jalapeños, diced onions, sour cream

Steps

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add ground beef and diced onion; cook 5–7 minutes until the beef is browned and the onion is soft.
  3. Stir in chili beans (and canned chili if using), chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Simmer 5 minutes to let flavors meld.
  4. Arrange a generous layer of Fritos in a serving dish or plates.
  5. Spoon the hot chili over the chips, then sprinkle shredded cheddar on top.
  6. Add your favorite optional toppings and serve immediately.
